Dr. Anna Mokgokong, an eminent figure in South Africa and globally, co-founded and serves as Executive Chairperson of Community Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd., a 100% black-owned company established in 1995. With a formidable presence in Healthcare, Academia, and Commerce, Dr. Mokgokong holds numerous prestigious positions, including Non-executive Chairperson roles at Afrocentric Investment Corporation, Rebosis Property Fund Limited, and Jasco Electronics Holdings Limited. She also serves as the first female Non-executive Director of Shoprite Holdings Limited and as a Non-executive Director at Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited.
Additionally, she chairs Seriti Coal, the second-largest coal supplier to Eskom. Her leadership extends to multiple non-listed entities, demonstrating her extensive influence across various sectors.Beyond her corporate achievements, Dr. Mokgokong is a celebrated community and business leader, recognized locally and internationally. Her accolades include SA Businesswoman of the Year (1999) and Leading Women Entrepreneur of the World (1998), with a recent Life Time Achievement Award (2018) from Gauteng's Premier David Makhura. Dr. Mokgokong's commitment to social activism and women empowerment is evident through her annual mentorship events for young female leaders and her active involvement in philanthropy. As Honorary Consul General of Iceland in Pretoria since 2017 and the first female Chancellor of North-West University since 2019, Dr. Mokgokong continues to inspire and drive transformative change in South Africa's economy and beyond.
Ms. Nomalanga Gule is a distinguished Attorney from the Kingdom of Eswatini with a robust legal background and a fervent passion for the law. Her journey began with the Eswatini Royal Police's Legal Services Department, leading her to pursue legal studies at the University of Eswatini, where she earned her Diploma in Law and LLB in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Following her studies, she served as a Crown Prosecutor and Pupil Crown Counsel, before being admitted as an attorney of the High Court of Eswatini in 2012. Nomalanga advanced her expertise with a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law from the University of Cape Town and later contributed significantly as Senior Legal Counsel - Trade at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade. Her notable work included representing Eswatini in key international trade agreements and the AfCFTA negotiations. Furthering her education with a Master’s in Drafting Legislation, Regulation, and Policy from the University of London, Nomalanga has also provided consultancy for prestigious institutions such as the WHO and UNECA. Since June 2024, she has been a Regional Trade Advisor for the Southern Region at the AfCFTA, driving the implementation of the AfCFTA agreement and enhancing regional trade integration.

Carissa Shah is a dynamic and experienced professional with a robust career spanning multiple sectors and organizational maturities. Currently serving as the Head of Supply Chain at Gold Fields' South Deep Mine, Carissa has a proven track record of formulating and applying diverse strategies tailored to the unique needs of her organizations. Her career journey includes significant roles such as Regional Logistics & Performance Manager at Anglo American, Head of Procurement Operations at Telkom Ltd, and Global Process Lead SCM at MTN Group. Carissa is known for her innovative approach, often breaking rules and taking calculated risks to drive business improvements, simplify complexities, and eliminate bottlenecks. She thrives in autonomous, agile, and people-centric environments that encourage technological advancements and business strategy alignment.
Carissa holds a BCOM in Supply Chain & Legal Studies from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, an MBA from Mancosa (Honoris United), and various other certifications including CIPS Level 4, MCIPS, and Prince 2 in Project Management. Her expertise spans transformation change management, project management, business continuity, and supplier management, among others. Carissa's notable achievements include managing budgets up to R196M, securing sustainable spend reductions, and implementing global supply chain processes and technologies. She is committed to making a positive impact on communities and the environment, demonstrated by her role as a zero-waste-to-landfill and circular economy champion. Her leadership style is situational and servant-oriented, focusing on coaching, mentoring, and fostering high-performing teams.
Joana Adwoa Bannerman is a seasoned corporate executive with extensive experience in strategic management, leadership, and business development within the banking and project management sectors, both locally and internationally. She began her career at Women’s World Banking (Ghana) Limited (WWBG), where she served as a Projects Officer. This role was pivotal in shaping her understanding of the critical role women play in entrepreneurship and the significance of both financial and non-financial support programs in fostering the growth of women's businesses. Additionally, she facilitated training programs in small enterprise development for the United States Peace Corps, further enriching her expertise in business development.
Over the next two decades, Joana held various roles in the mainstream banking sector, including International Trade Finance, Credit Management, Branch Operations, and Business Development. From November 2016 to October 2021, she served as the Managing Director of Access Bank in Zambia. During her tenure, she led a successful turnaround of the bank, transforming it into a profitable entity. She also oversaw the acquisition and merger of Cavmont Bank Zambia in 2020, significantly expanding Access Bank’s presence in the region. Currently, she is spearheading Access Bank’s expansion into Francophone West Africa and driving the development of their Retail and Digital banking business across West and Central Africa. Beyond her professional pursuits, she is passionate about gardening and mentorship, believing it to be a vital tool for personal and professional growth. She is eager to leverage her experience to contribute to the growth and expansion of businesses across Africa and is honored to participate in the African Women in Business Conference 2024.
Mazvita Maradzika is a Chartered Accountant (SA) with extensive experience in corporate and development finance, developing and implementing investment and finance strategies, leading teams, and engaging stakeholders in both large and small entities across multiple industries in Southern Africa.
"We rise by lifting others” is her professional creed and this is seen in Mazvita’s passion to drive sustainable and impactful investments and trade in Africa. In her work, she assures that investments & trade are structured and financed soundly, ensuring a positive impact for all stakeholders, resulting in sustainable socio-economic development.
Mary-Ann Parr is a chartered accountant and co-founder of U Can Grow Africa Proprietary Limited (UCGA). With 15 years of experience in impact programs, farming, and contract farming, Mary-Ann has driven UCGA's mission to transition families "From poverty to prosperity." UCGA focuses on rural agro-industrial development, enhancing small-scale farmers' productivity and incomes, and generating employment through expanding food supply and value chains. Her diverse expertise spans managing a finance team for a R300 billion employee benefits business, project managing finance and risk restructuring, and planning HR remuneration strategies for asset management businesses, including private equity and hedge funds. Mary-Ann also co-managed the establishment of FoodBank South Africa, a multi-million Rand food security program, and was the youngest Executive at Old Mutual Asset Management, holding the position for five years.
Over the past fifteen years, Mary-Ann has been deeply involved in agriculture and agro-processing, initially consulting for Mining Houses with agricultural land holdings before transitioning to contract farming. Her extensive experience has resulted in a broad network of funders, processing partners, and growing programs aimed at optimizing the bridge between investors and agricultural deal flow. Mary-Ann's direct involvement in various growing programs includes projects such as exporting 50 hectares of blueberries, cultivating bayleaf and curry leaf trees with black female farmers, contract farming guar with commercial and small lot farmers, and developing livestock feedlot programs. She has also participated in trials for onions for McCormack Spices, bamboo and cactus for biofuels, vegetable production, and the cultivation of avocados, macadamias, and paprika for export markets. Additionally, she has spearheaded the development of mango and vegetable growing programs in Senegal and contracted 400 tons of dried capsicum for Crown National.
While being born in NYC and raised in Miami FL USA, Bradley grew up understanding the importance of the African Diaspora from an early age. Having initially traveled to West Africa, at the early age of 14, with his father he developed Pan Africanist roots.
After completing both undergraduate and graduate studies from prestigious HBCUs in Atlanta GA he worked in Philadelphia PA for a major corporate bank for a number of years. Post South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994 an intriguing and serendipitous opportunity arose during a visit by President Mandela to the U.S. An encounter with the then Vodacom CEO Alan Knott Craig spurn an opportunity to become a preferred service provider lead to a momentous move to South Africa in 1998.
The rest is history as they say, with stints working as an Entrepreneur in many fields to becoming a sub Saharan Africa Regional Manager for a major U.S. global QSR franchise through to assisting with negotiations to changes in major economic policies for inbound foreign investment in sectors such as Film/TV, Sports & Entertainment, Media, Agriculture, Property Investment and Maritime Industries to name a few.
Bradley currently resides in Johannesburg and travels extensively to Washington D.C.
Dr. Kgathane Paulina Mamogobo is a distinguished professional with over 15 years of experience in policy, regulation, and international relations. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Gordon Institute of Business Science and a Master of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa. Her career is marked by significant contributions to industrial, incentive, foreign trade, and investment policy. Dr. Mamogobo's leadership and expertise were pivotal in her role as the project lead for the 2023 15th BRICS Summit, where she showcased her skills in diplomacy, global collaboration, and complex international negotiations. She successfully orchestrated the BRICS Business Oriented Program, attracting delegates from Brazil, Russia, China, India, and South Africa, thereby fostering international engagement and collaboration.
Currently, Dr. Mamogobo serves as the Head of Investment Promotion and Facilitation at Dube TradePort Corporation, where she promotes the Special Economic Zone as a prime investment destination. Her strategic vision has attracted substantial investments in sectors such as automotive and textiles. Her professional journey includes notable tenures at the Development Bank of Southern Africa, where she developed the concept note for the AfCFTA Africa Transport Corridor Infrastructure Programme, and at the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, where she excelled as Director of International Operations. Dr. Mamogobo's early career roles at Investment South Africa and the dtic involved facilitating significant foreign direct investment projects and developing incentive programs for emerging sectors. An active member of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa and The Speakers Firm, she volunteers with the tt 100 Innovation Awards and the BRICS Business Council, and has received several accolades, including the Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans in Government and Politics. Her contributions to policy documents and speaking engagements reflect her thought leadership in business strategy, economic development, and international relations.
Mrs. Nolwandle “Noli” Thula-Mboweni, born in Orlando East, Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa, is a distinguished educator and accomplished businesswoman. She matriculated at Marrianhill High School in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, and holds a Senior Teacher's Diploma, a BA in Education from the University of Johannesburg, and a Management Advancement Programme (MAP) qualification from Wits Business School. Noli dedicated a decade to teaching Science at Fons Luminas High School in Diepkloof, Soweto, before transitioning to the business sector in 1999. She became a director and shareholder in All Pay Gauteng (Pty) through a partnership with ABSA Bank (Barclays), managing social grants across Gauteng Province. Noli's business acumen led her to prominent roles with Sun International, where she served as a director and chaired Sun Carnival for ten years, and with Total South Africa as a shareholder and director through TOSACO (Pty), overseeing the Transformation and Ethics Board Committee.
In addition to her significant contributions to the banking, hospitality, and energy sectors, Noli played a pivotal role in Africa's first high-speed train project, the Gautrain, as a shareholder and director of BOMBELA through SPG (Pty). She ventured into the mining industry as a shareholder and director of TEM (Pty), a manufacturer of electrical motors for mining. Noli also holds shares in Investfem (Pty) Ltd, a women-owned company with stakes in Cell C. Passionate about women and youth empowerment, she founded the PROVERBS 31 LEGACY ministry, mentoring women in balancing family and career. Noli extends her love for teaching through masterclass cooking lessons and business development mentorship. Her philanthropic efforts include a bursary fund that has supported the education of pilots, lawyers, and accountants. Recognized for her contributions, Noli has been featured in "South Africa's Most Inspirational Women Volume 2" and DESTINY Magazine's "POWER HOUSE" issue. A member of the International Women’s Forum South Africa (IWFSA), she received the Best Business Woman in Africa award in 2017 and the Order of Baobab in Silver in 2021. She is married to Dr. Lincoln Mboweni and blessed with three children and two grandchildren.
Stavros Nicolaou is a distinguished leader in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Group Senior Executive for Strategic Trade Development at Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Limited, Africa's largest pharmaceutical manufacturer. With a profound background that includes a tenure as CEO of Aspen's Export Business, Nicolaou has been pivotal in making Aspen a global leader in Anaesthetics and injectable anti-coagulants.
Nicolaou’s significant contributions to healthcare include the introduction of the first generic Antiretroviral (ARV) drugs in Africa, developed by Aspen, which have saved countless lives across the continent. His extensive educational background includes a B.Pharm and an honorary PhD in Medicine from the University of Witwatersrand.
Recognized for his influential work, Nicolaou has received multiple accolades including being listed among the Global Top 100 Health Influential People of African Descent in 2023, and an honorary doctorate from Wits University. He has served on various prestigious boards and committees, such as the Advisory Council on National Orders appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa, and has chaired the Public Health Enhancement Fund.
A respected speaker and thought leader, Nicolaou has addressed international forums including the World Economic Forum and the Economist Roundtable, and remains actively engaged in initiatives aimed at improving global health outcomes and pharmaceutical access.
Fungai is the Chief People Officer and a member of the EXCO for the Cospharm Group of companies, a pharmaceutical organisation that retails, distributes, and manufactures medicines in southern Africa. She manages a staff complement of highly qualified healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds, races and cultures. Fungai holds an MBA from GIBS, MSc (UZ), Hons in Biological Sciences (UZ), a Certificate in Human Resources Management, and various certificates in management and is currently studying towards a Diploma in Regulatory Sciences. She is married and has three beautiful children.
Irene Kiwia is the co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Adanian Labs, a Pan-African smart technology company building an ecosystem to support 100,000+ data scientists, AI engineers, and blockchain programmers. Adanian Labs is also home to African tech solutions designed to digitize informal economies and a venture builder of tech startups addressing the continent's challenges. With a career spanning over two decades, Irene is Priacarenowned for her unwavering commitment to empowering African entrepreneurs and driving technological innovation. She is also the founder of the community platform www.twaa.io, fintech Ecobba, and The Africa Blockchain Center, a center of excellence for blockchain development in Africa A passionate advocate for women's empowerment, Irene's leadership is dedicated to inspiring and paving the way for the next generation of female leaders in Africa.
Chipo Mabota is the founder and CEO of Cooper and Jones Global Logistics who in 2022 became the first female in Zimbabwe to own a company that handled full vessel cargo from port clearance to destination. Chipo has scooped various accolades such as Zimbabwe CEO Network Outstanding Entrepreneurial Leader (2023) as well as Top 50 CEOs in Zimbabwe (2023). Women in Logistics (FFI-MEA) award (2022) endorsed by UN Women which all attest to her success and leadership in the logistics arena.
Chipo was named one of the top 100 Most Influential African Women in Supply Chain in 2022 and was featured in an E-book for 50 Extraordinary Women in Africa published in 2023.
She is a holder of an MBA from the University of South Wales (2017); MCIPS from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (2004) and is a past board member of CIPS Zimbabwe (2005- 2007).
Nyasha has more than 20 years of industry experience, specializing in infrastructure development and financing projects across Africa and Central Europe. She has raised over US$2.5 billion for energy project in Sub-Sahara Africa in the last 10 years for public utilities and private developers.
Nombulelo "Bea" Hackula is a trailblazing leader and founder of Africa for Africa Women NPC, an organization with representation across all five African Union regions and the diaspora. She also established Women Building our Africa (WBoA) Financial Services Primary Cooperative, which received official licensing from the Reserve Bank of South Africa in 2020 and now operates in six South African provinces. Additionally, Bea founded ASSERTMedia, an online magazine and virtual coaching platform designed to empower women leaders and entrepreneurs. During the COVID-19 lockdown, she launched the Women of Africa Arise Forum, connecting women across 36 AU member states and the diaspora, providing vital support to professionals and entrepreneurs.
Bea is widely recognized for her extensive executive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. As an independent consultant, she contributes to the National School of Government and Public Service Accountability and Administration Academy in South Africa. A former Supply Chain Manager for Mercedes Benz of South Africa, she played a pivotal role in developing and implementing BEE policy, leading to significant growth for black-owned SMEs. Bea’s accolades include the BWASA Business Woman of the Year Award in Government Category, the Women Super Achievers Award, and the Global Excellence Awards - Top 40 Female Leaders of the Year 2021. She is a Harvard alumnus and a certified John Maxwell Coach, dedicated to executive leadership development and women empowerment.
Tarisai Moffat is a trailblazing female entrepreneur and dynamic speaker with over 15 years of experience in marketing, communication, and project management. As the co-founder of Gateway Synergy, she launched the company in 2018 without external funding, driving significant growth in the digital marketing and content production sector across Sub-Saharan Africa. Specializing in top-notch video production and marketing solutions, her innovative approach has earned her major recognition.
Tarisai has been at the forefront of discussions on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), sharing invaluable insights at the Mandela Washington Summit in the USA. As the Master of Ceremony for the Zimbabwe Investment Summit 2024 held in Johannesburg, she facilitated discussions among industry leaders, government officials, and investors. At the Institute of Marketing Management South Africa, she continues to co-host a monthly webinar addressing topical marketing issues in Africa. Her remarkable contributions have garnered her the Women in Marketing UK Award and selection into the EY (Ernst & Young) Entrepreneurial Winning Women program.
Alpana Goolab is an accomplished Solutions Architect Leader at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in South Africa, where she has been making significant contributions since June 2019. With over five years of experience at AWS, Alpana specializes in cloud computing solutions, leveraging her extensive knowledge to drive innovation and efficiency for clients across various sectors. Her role involves leading a team of skilled architects, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructures. Alpana's expertise in AWS services is complemented by her strong technical background, which she developed through her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Alpana holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, which has equipped her with strategic business insights and leadership skills. Based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, she is a well-connected professional with nearly 2,000 followers and over 500 connections on LinkedIn. Known for her collaborative approach, Alpana actively engages with peers and industry leaders, fostering a network of mutual growth and learning. Her fluency in both Afrikaans and English further enhances her ability to communicate and connect in South Africa's diverse business environment.
As the COO of the Regenesys Group, and former Head of the Regenesys Foundation, Indherani Reddy has not only garnered a wealth of experience in business, she knows first-hand about the glass ceilings women in business can encounter. She is also an acknowledged expert in Change Management consultancy in the SAP and HR environment.
As an avid networker and entrepreneur with the ability to establish sustainable and profitable relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders across the world, Indherani has held several executive positions in several other JSC-listed organisations.
Ms. Noxolo Mtembu is a Sector Specialist with experience in Renewable Energy and Climate Change Mitigation. She holds Bachelors,Honours and Post Graduate degrees in the Environmental Sciences from WITS University; and a Master’s Degree from the University of Cambridge (UK). She began her career in the construction sector finally fulfilling the position of Group Environmental Manager at Basil Read. At the Department of Economic Development, she headed up the Green Economy Programme Management Office (PMO), this office was tasked with implementation of the Green Economy Strategy for Gauteng. The PMO was tasked with conceptualizing of key economic infrastructure for green economy projects and creating employment opportunities in the Green Economy sector through Innovation and market interventions. Currently, she manages the Alternative Waste Treatment Technologies Projects for Gauteng and Alternative and Renewable Energy Projects at the Gauteng Infrastructure Financing Agency (GIFA). The GIFA supports local government and departments in preparing, financing and implementation of key Economic infrastructure Projects in the Gauteng Province.
Marla Naidoo is the Regional Director for the Rainforest Alliance, managing a portfolio of 11 countries with the mandate to increase the footprint in Southern Africa. She holds a Masters Degree in Agriculture & Development from Wageningen University & Research, NL. With 16 years of experience in the Sustainability Sector, Marla works extensively at all levels from farmers to companies to advocate for responsible sourcing and ethical trade. Her commitment to making responsible business practices the new norm has supported farmers and companies in adopting improved environmental and social practices. In the face of the current triple crises of climate change, increased poverty and human rights violations, Marla’s efforts are dedicated to accelerating the actions to restore and regenerate landscapes and communities enabling meaningful change and impact for a sustainable future.
